Buying a Home in Scottsdale
If you are buying a home in Scottsdale, Arizona, you have many options, from luxury homes to town homes. Finding out how much of a house you can afford is the first step when looking for a home in Scottsdale. Once you have been pre-approved, let the searching begin.
Narrowing your search:
Once you know how much you are able to spend, your search is narrowed, but there are still several choices. One way to narrow those choices is by finding an area that has something you are interested in. For example, Scottsdale is home to several parks and at least four public pools, several libraries, community centers, hiking trails, amusement parks, and sports venues.
A second way of narrowing your search is by choosing a school that is best for your children, and moving into a home within the school’s boundaries.
Luxury homes in Scottsdale: If you are looking at buying a home in Scottsdale, and have some cash, you have several luxury neighborhoods to choose from. Homes nestled on the McDowell Mountains and nearby foothills offer seclusion, a beautiful view, and lots of space. Most homes in this area have a square footage ranging from 2,000 square feet to 4,500 square feet, with some even larger than that. Many of these luxurious homes are in gated communities, which add security and privacy. Of course, you’ll pay for the size and grandeur, the privacy and security. Homes in this area creep into the million-dollar-and-more category.
Not all luxury homes are located in the foothills and on the mountainside. There are luxury homes throughout the city. Many are close to resorts and golf courses. Most have swimming pools to keep you a little cooler during the hot Arizona summers.
Townhomes and condos: If you are buying a home in Scottsdale, and are looking for a place to own that requires a smaller monthly payment than a luxury home requires, Scottsdale also has many townhomes and condos. You will want to find a place to live that has some amenities you’d enjoy (like a pool, tennis court, exercise room, etc.).
Neighborhoods: There are several new neighborhoods being built in the Scottsdale area, which has grown remarkably over the last several years. When you are buying a new home, you are able to choose a home design, but you also have to make sure the yard is put in. There are also many established neighborhoods to choose from in Scottsdale.
Finding your home in Scottsdale:
Buying a home in Scottsdale can be exhausting, especially for people who are not used to the hot desert climate. If you are driving around looking for homes, make sure you stay full of liquid! If you don’t want to drive yourself around, then contact a real estate agent. Calling an agent can save you time and frustration, because the agent knows his or her way around town. An agent will also know something about the neighborhoods and areas around Scottsdale. Remember, an agent should take you around looking at homes for no charge; they make their money by selling you a home.
